Adopting an ECAR Cat

We are very selective when it comes to adopting out our animals.

All of our cats are very special. They have been rescued from death, or from a life of hardship or abuse. We will do our best to ensure that they will be loved, respected and well cared for, for the REST of their lives. We believe every animal deserves a safe, loving home and we are doing all we can to help this happen.

The adoption process is fairly simple.  When you see a kitty you are interested in on our site or Facebook page under "Available for Adoption" album, just fill out an adoption application online.  You will be contacted by an adoption counselor within 2-3 days for an interview.  Once you are approved arrangements will be made to meet/adopt the kitty. The application does not bind you to a kitty or to the one you are initially interested in.  We like to make perfect matches for both cat and adopter. The process is much quicker on our adoption event days. There you can meet a kitty, apply, be interviewed and take kitty home all on the same day.

As a minimum, all cats have been spayed or neutered, tested for feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), are up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas. The adoption fee covers this so your initial veterinary expenses have been taken care of. Our average adoption fee is $150, but can be a little higher or a little lower depending on the cat. Your adoption fee is a donation and you are welcome to give more to help us save more cats.
